Rock climbing is an activity in which participants climb up, down or across natural rock formations or artificial rock walls. The goal is to reach the summit of a formation or the endpoint of a usually pre-defined route without falling.
Climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport, one that often tests a climber’s strength, endurance, agility and balance along with mental control. It can be a dangerous activity and knowledge of proper climbing techniques and usage of specialised climbing equipment is crucial. (Source: Wikipedia)

Hello, im 19 and have a new found interest in Climbing/Bouldering. Delhi Rock is close by and seems good to join. I want to pursue the sport seriously and would like to enter competitions in the future. Am I age appropriate, and can Delhi Rock provide me with the proper training/trainer to help me enter competitions in the near future or is it for more formal visits? would like some details on the teaching and coaching process
Thanks,
Daksh

Can I be trained professionally for competitions by Delhi Rocks?
Yes, Ganeshsir is a four times national champion and has trained many of the top climbers in Delhi / India. If you begin with our beginner 101 program, then Master Class, you will make steady progress and can hope to start competing after 3-4 years of serious training.
Hello, My family and I are planning on moving to the area soon. I have been bouldering for a year now and am interested in visiting. I have a question on how large the bouldering walls are, and also if there is a grading system for climbs?
Our bouldering walls are 10 feet high ma’am, so relatively low in height. We also have top rope (mostly 20 feet, and one elevator shaft which is 55 feet). And a lead climbing incline which is about 25 feet. We use the French system for grading.
My son age is 9, we live in Gurgaon sector 109, any summer camp or few days camp nearby for mountain or rock climbing? because GK is too far and not a direct conectivity from here, any suggestion or advice ?
Apologies, we’re not aware of any other centre that offers the kinds of training and facilities we do!
Do please visit us, we’ve had parents who’d bring kids all the way from Gurgaon regularly in the past.
Hi, Can I please request you to share your contact number. I want to speak with one of your executives.
I head sports for a chain of schools, it is in this regard that I would like to speak with you.
Thank you

Sure Mr Sidhu,

What should be the minimum age of a child to enroll in any of the climbing activities.
Generally 5 plus is appropriate, although on occasion we’ve seen 4 year olds also take to climbing.
I have no experience in climbing.neither I know 101 or regular classes. I just want to experience for once.what will b the cost per person.i guess I will need some instructions for sure before starting.and if there is any hour limit plz let me know.thanx
Ok Soumi. The best time to come for a single session is Sat or Sun at 6 pm. You’ll be a part of a small group, and get to climb as well as learn some basics, and a coach will be with you for 1.5 hrs. The cost is Rs 600 for a single session, and you can also stay and keep climbing past that time, till 9 PM, which is when we shut!
Is 1 pass for 1 month
Hi Siddharth,
A single pass (Rs 600) is for a single session at Delhi Rock.

Hi,
I want to come boulder today with a friend, will the bouldering wall be open around 6pm? Do we have to take the intro course, even though we are not belaying/top-roping?
Do you rent shoes? How about chalk? Are there lockers to leave our stuff there?
Hello ma’am,
Sorry we missed your comment on the website earlier; if you’re still keen to come in to boulder, do please let us know.
For bouldering you don’t need to take the 101 course, correct. Yes, we rent shoes. Yes, we have chalk as well. And yes, there are lockers as well.

Can I do a party of around 13 teens for rock climbing here on Friday or Saturday?
Hey, I’m in Delhi for 2 months. I know how to belay and have my own Harness, belay device and shoes. Can you let me know if I’ll be required to take a verification test for belaying and are there any specific timings for it? Also, which course of yours teach lead climbing?
Thanks
Yes, you’re welcome to come in any time during open hours (see the link at the bottom of the page), we’re happy to give you a belay check.
We teach lead climbing during the master class sessions, which are Mon Wed Fri at 7.30 pm.

hi
I took the 101 in 2016 and i completed BMC from NIM in 2017. Ive been out of the climbing scene for a bit but im eager to come back.
Does the Master Class have a refresher?
Will i have to take the 101 again?
Cheers.
Aayush
Hi Aayush,
No problem, you can just resume Master Class, and Ganeshsir will guide you through. Do please express to him that your belay is a bit rusty, he’ll help you out!
Anuraag
Hii this is sumit,
I did climbing almost 10 years ago for the first time.So i want to again start doing it.I just wanted to ask how many sessions do we get if we pay monthly basis?
Hi Sumit,
I think we spoke on the phone! The monthly is unlimited, so technically you can come every day (except Tuesday when we’re closed) to train. Additionally, we have the guided sessions we told you about, on the weekends for beginners and during the week for climbers who have completed the beginner sessions.
Anuraag
Hi,
What are opening hours in a weekdays? Do you work on Tuesday?
I just want to come for some boulders and workout by myself.
Great. Please see our open hours at https://delhirock.org/hours-and-holidays/. We are closed on Tuesdays, but otherwise you’re welcome to come anytime during open hours.

Hello, my name is Patricia, i will be traveling to India and will be in Delhi for a couple of days at the beginning of February, and then at the end of February for 4 or 5 days. Is it possible to do some bouldering at your wall without paying for the monthly fee? I could pay every day I am coming i really don’t mind that at all, but would be great if i don’t have to pay for the full month. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you!
Hi Patricia,
Yes, you can pay the daily fee, which is Rs 500. We don’t have a 4 pass, the next set up is 10 passes, which won’t work for you!
Anuraag

Hi, Coming to India in a couple of weeks, first time, only in Dehli (and India) three days for work trip. Love to try different gyms whenever away. Do you have much bouldering or auto-belay (by myself this trip)? Are you far from Connaught Place (Hotel)? and what time do you close, as working probably till late afternoon? Thank you
Great! We have bouldering, but no auto-belays. You can however come climb with us, and if a couple of people get to know you, you can climb together. That typically happens within a session or two.
We’re not super far from Connaught place, but in traffic it can take up to 40 minutes to reach us, maybe 25-30 without traffic. So better to leave early before rush hour (from 6-9 pm is rush hour).
Anuraag
What are your opening hours…?
Our open hours are posted to:

Hello, I am coming Delhi on 26.9 for Just one day and I have to wait for my airplane. So I was wondering if one can Just Come borrow shoes and do some bouldering.
Thanks for reply.
Yes, absolutely. The 26th is a Wednesday, we are open from 3 to 9 pm that day. You can just drop in and boulder, and rent shoes as well, total cost Rs 500.

I will be at your gym in the afternoon of Sep 26th.
Yes, absolutely. The 26th is a Wednesday, we are open from 3 to 9 pm that day. You can just drop in and boulder, and rent shoes as well, total cost Rs 500.
If you’d like to top rope or lead, you can also take a quick belay test and then join the climbers that day. The time for the belay test is between 6 pm and 7.30 pm on Wednesdays.

Do you have 1 class for a few hours just for a day ?
Yes, you can just come in for a single session of 101 as well, on either Saturday or Sunday at 5.00 pm. Ninety minute session, Rs 600 for a single.

Hi Usha, Just wanted to check whether with The 101 Climbing classes (4 classes) , along with learning the basics will we be allowed to do some basic climbs? And after the 101 introductory classes, do we get to learn under Ganesh Sir , if we buy the monthly pass, and is it only on weekdays?
Yes, the 101 class is mostly practical, you will get to do lots of climbing during those four sessions.
Yes, Master Class on MWF 7.30 pm is with Ganeshsir, and is included in your monthly or passes.
You can always come back in for the same timings as 101 (Sat Sun 5 pm) to get guidance from Ganeshsir, he is open to including more experienced climbers alongside new ones.
Anuraag
Hi,
Can I take the Climbing 101 (all 4 sessions) during weekdays, or maybe like combine a weekend and 2 weekdays?
Also, can I come and pay directly or is it mandatory to book the session in advance?
Thanks
Hi Swati,
At the moment 101 is only on weekends at 5 pm, as posted. You could come in for a single weekend though (two sessions) and then ask Ganeshsir if he feels you’re ready to jump right into Master Class on MWF 7.30 pm. If he thinks you are, you can hop in for your latter two sessions then.
101 is starting to run quite full, so we recommend signing up online to have assured availability of slots!
Anuraag
Hi,
I stay in delhi and interested to do some outdoor activities like rock climbing. Can I do rockclimbing session for this Sat just to check the environment and how it goes. If it works I’ll like to attend the whole course. Also, for a single pass will I be getting any instructor for help or its just on our own.
Hi Usha,
Yes, you can take just a single 101 session for Rs 600 and then decide how you want to proceed. Class is at 5 pm, and you’ll have an instructor with you guiding you.
We don’t recommend climbing on your own if you haven’t done that already! You need guidance and some tips, safety instruction, your first few times,
Anuraag
Hello,
I’m staying in delhi for a couple of weeks and would like to come around for some boulder sessions. I can understand that newbies have to do the belaying course for toprope, but can I use the bouldering facilities without the course and at what days/times is the place opened for bouldering?
Hope to see you soon!
Regards, Mella
Hi Mella,
You’re welcome to come and boulder without getting belay certified.
The timings are listed at https://delhirock.org/hours-and-holidays/, you’re most welcome to come and climb whenever we’re open!

I just want to come by for a day with a friend, and I think I need to buy a “single pass” for that. No further detail regarding “single pass” other than the price is available on your website. Can you please tell me if it’s okay to drop by anytime, tentatively 10th Feb? And also will a pair of active sports shoes suffice for the session or do we need to rent a specific climbing shoes? Thanks.
Hi Tenzin,
Yes, that’s right, you’re welcome to drop in anytime on the 10th, that’s a Saturday and we’re open from 8 am to 8 pm that day. A single pass entitles you to climb for as long as you’d like. Climbing shoes are Rs 100 rental.
If you’ve climbed before, you should just drop in and boulder and climb. If you haven’t, you might want to take our Climbing 101 class that day, that’s Rs 600 for one session and is a guided group session for climbing. 5 pm on Saturday.
For Climbing 101 course, can I pay cash at the GYM?
Yes, absolutely!
Hi,
I wanted to know if i could attend a Climbing 101 course after the 10th of December? Is the course available every weekend or only certain specified dates?
Yes Aniruddh, 101 is every Sat and Sun at 5 pm. Except for holidays like xmas and New Year’s, which are posted to https://delhirock.org/hours-and-holidays/
Anuraag
Hi, I want to do rock climbing course for one month in the month of 20 december to 20 january in Delhi. I am the beginner in this course. I want to do regular classes as 6 or 7 days a week. What would be the fees and timings.
That’s great. You can take 101 for the first ten days (four sessions for Rs 1800, on Saturdays and Sundays at 5pm) and learn the safety basics, after which you’re able to join our regular Mon Wed Fri 730 pm Master Class to improve your climbing conditioning and skill with Ganeshsir, our climbing coach. You can buy passes for the remaining month, 10 passes are Rs 3000.
Anuraag
Hi,
I’m hoping v to take the 101 next week. Just wanted to ask if I buy the 20 passes after the 101, does that include an instructor / someone to belay? Thanks
The 20 passes are for coming to DR to climb, and we don’t have people around to help belay! So it’s important to join the climber’s whatsapp group and find someone to come and climb with. Master Class is also a lot of fun, and that’s guided, so another good way to get regular climbing in with lots of other climbers!
Anuraag
Hi. I just want to try out rock climbing with my 10-year-old son. Can we just drop in during your opening hours and try it out for an hour or more and pay for that? Or do we need to book lessons and have membership?
Hi Nita,
We have kids classes every Tue & Thu at 4 pm, and every Sat & Sun at 3 pm.
At those times, the kids get to climb for Rs 500 per head (or buy 10 passes for Rs 3000 or 20 for Rs 5000).
If you’d like a specific time, we can also set up a private session, which would be Rs 1800 total. Private sessions can be set up to suit your convenience.
well can i try it too because i have weakness in my body and i can’t walk properly but i want to do it
If you have a condition which makes walking properly difficult, but want to try climbing, we could set up a session for you with our climbing coach. Could you please call Ganeshsir at +91 85270 55980? Please explain your concerns to him and see what he has to say.
Anuraag
I am going for a trip next week for 10 days, so should I start the sessions when I come back or should I start right away?
Either way. You won’t forget 4 sessions worth of training in 10 days, and will be able to join our master class sooner. Whatever you think is most convenient.
Anuraag
If i pay the monthly fee do i have to pay for 101 separately or will it be inclusive of all other charges?
Yes, 101 is separately charged, the 4 sessions for 1800. After 101 you can take up passes or a monthly. 101 is inclusive of all charges.
Hi,
I want to start with Climbing 101. Can I drop in, on Tuesday and pay at the gym straight away.
Thanks
Yes, absolutely. We’ll see you on Tuesday,
Anuraag
I have some experience in climbing, and want to bring some friends to have some fun and give them an exposure as to what is climbing.
What would the charges be like for a single visit per person as such ?
Hi Ravtej,
If you want to handle the group, that’s fine too – you just need to visit us beforehand and get belay certified, details of which are at https://delhirock.org/climbing-101/. You can do this any week day between 3 and 7.30 pm.
The fees for a dropin (without instructor assistance) are 400 per person, plus 100 each for shoes / harness. You might just want to book a group visit with us (size 5 and above) where we charge 500 per head and provide instructors as well.
Hi I’m only free on Sundays.
6 days a week I work from 10 to 7.
How can I attend the 101 classes?
101 is at 730 pm on Tue and Thu, so you should be able to attend that? Alternatively, you can attend four Sundays 5 pm in a row. Alternatively, you can set up private sessions with Ganeshsir on weekday nights (say 8 pm) to gain the same instruction.
i wanna get some information about it 🙂
Hello how many days we can come if we pay the monthly fees?
You’re welcome to come every day if you’d like! But we recommend climbing 2-3 times a week to begin with, that’s enough, and you need rest as well.
Hey,
I’m a french student who is coming to work for 3 months in Delhi from 22nd April till 10th July. I do bouldering climbing indoor in France, do you think I will be able to take a kind of subscription in Delhi Rock to do bouldering once or twice a week during my stay ?
Is it possible in the end of weekday ?
I just have to bring my climbing shoes ?
Thank you !
Axel
Yes, you’re welcome to pay our monthly fee, which is Rs 3200, or pay for 20 passes, Rs 5000, depending on the frequency of intended use. We’re open till 9.30 PM, so yes, it is possible to come after work. Correct, just climbing shoes please.
I am thinking of coming to Delhi rock.I wanted to ask you if the regular sessions are available on Mondays.
Thank you
Yes, we’re open for climbing today, from 3 to 9.30 pm. If you need a private session, you can do one, or just pay the regular fee and boulder.
Do you have a bouldering wall? If so, how many problems? Thanks in advance!
Yes, we do have a bouldering wall, with about 20 problems in all, grades 5a – 6c.
Hey,
I am visiting Delhi for a few days this week and just wanna do some indoor leading. Toproping and bouldering are fine as well. I just want to know what the procedure to climb in your gym is like, because I’m just there for 3 days (24,25,26 nov) and probably wont be able to do the intro course. I do work at a boulder, toprope and leading gym where I live and I’m lead belay certified by the American Alpine Club regulations. I do not have a belayer with me so I want to meet someone who i could climb with. I will belay for the other climber as well, I really love belaying other people. I already have shoes, a harness, chalk and a belay device and wanted to know if I could rent a rope from you if I climb. Thanks in advance
Hi Aakashdeep,
You’re welcome to come in on the 24th and get belay certified with us. Please see https://delhirock.org/climbing-101/ for notes on our belay system. You don’t need to do the intro course if you’re an experienced climber, the belay test is free and just takes 15 minutes, anytime from 3 pm to 9 pm. Yes, hopefully you’ll bump into folks on the day to climb with you, you can also ask our people to belay you. We have a rope for lead climbing, please ask the person at the reception for help with that.
